Final Reflection –Mobil Learning –Fall 2013
Aysha Bajabaa

As a result of participating in this class I feel that I have high confidence about myself and proud of what I did in all assignments and projects. I am able to learn new things (tools, apps, devices) by exploring their features, functions, and uses through reading and watching tutorial videos as what I did in Audacity as a new tool for me. Also, I learned that some products require analyzing the uses of the tools that I need to integrate in my instruction in order to ensure choosing appropriate tools to achieve each activity’s goals. As a teacher I needed to look for free or cheap tools at least to use them in my lessons. Also, I tried to select the friendlily user tools.

Cell phone assignment is the most one I am proud of because I created the unit by using different mobile tools that help students to learn in different ways and meet their different learning styles, which makes learning more engaging. Throughout these lessons, students use tools to communicate as groups, summarize their thoughts, and draw their conclusions. As most of the assignments focused on lesson planning, I would like to use these tools in different ideas rather than repeating the same idea. I feel that we as students need to have more choices and freedom in selecting tools and presenting their understanding of these tools. When using technology, as a teacher, I am worried about its cost, safety, and how easily it is for use. Therefore, I always try to use free and easy to use technology and provide different resources, such as video tutorials, to help students understand how to use new technologies. Also, I try to avoid technology that requires sharing personal information. In my teaching I was most concern about internet connection problem which affects instructional plan, so I have to be ready with alternatives ways. I am so excited about exploring new apps that support Mobil Learning and help students to gain 21st century skills and be part of global learning community.

On the same time, I like ePals and iEran as two websites help me as a teacher to communicate with teachers and students from all over the world and expand my student’s knowledge through learning about global issues from different perspectives. Through products that I created, I believe that they reflect 21st century classroom since I built them in a way that requires students to learn by themselves and from each other by taking more responsibilities about their learning and integrating mobile learning technology to help them learn anywhere and anytime. In lessons activities, students were required working as groups to research for information, analyze data, and interpret results to find solution for real-life problems through appropriate technology utilization. With the power of technology, students can easily connect with peers and with teacher to get instant feedbacks. Moreover, social media tools allow students to present their projects with others in attractive ways based on their individual learning styles.
